Disgruntled Postal Workers was formed in 1993 in Point Pleasant, N.J.
by guitarist Chris Nickerson, bassist John Ardolina, drummer Vin Thoms and vocalist Scott Sunkimat.
The idea was to create original progressive rock music that was different than other "original" bands.
In 1996, the self-titled CD Disgruntled Postal Workers was released and it recieved critical acclaim in
The Aquarian magazine as well as airplay on 95.9 WRAT, The Rat. It was at this time that Vin left the band
to persue other interests and monster drummer Casey Ferry joined. Over the years, Disgruntled Postal Workers
opened for many national acts including Blue Oyster Cult, Yngwie Malmsteen, L.A. Guns,
and Doug Pinnick's Pound Hound to name a few. DPW has accumulated an impressive list of "cover" songs to bring to the "all night"
clubs as well. This list includes songs from TOOL, RUSH, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots,
Sublime and many more. In 2002, the second disk
WICKED was released and was hailed as an A+ production by Aquarian Magazine staff writer Chris Barry (R.I.P.)
(Click here to read the write-up) and has been featured on WRAT's local bands
program numerous times. At the prestigious, annual Asbury Music Awards, Disgruntled was nominated Best Rock band in 1999, 2000, and 2001;
Best Heavy Rock Band 2003. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Please sign our guestbook below. Thank you!
